A Course In Miracles (ACIM) is a spiritual path that, when studied and practiced, takes us to the experience of peace and joy. The Course is not linked to any religious or other spiritual practices; it is not a belief system, but a way to undo our limiting beliefs that block the flow of love and peace. It is designed as a curriculum with a text and workbook. The process of engaging with the Course is much like setting out to discover the "new world." Its language, writing style, and message can feel quite foreign, and yet there is a familiarity that your soul remembers from long ago. Many who hear the messages from ACIM feel a "ring of truth" or something that just "feels right" when they hear it.

A study group is a way for students to join together to find support in their practice, to get clarity on its teachings, and to gain insight on what we need to let go of to heal. This is the intention that is set for the group. During the study group's time together:

  • A section of the text will be assigned to read at home. The group will come together each week to clarify the reading material, remove blocks, and encourage application of the teaching as a way to deepen understanding of ACIM and enhance the practice of participants.
  • The group will be reading from “A Course in Miracles” Second Edition. In reading the first four chapters, the group will be referencing “The Illuminated Text” by Robert Perry and Greg Mackie which includes some of the relevant Urtext material that was edited out of the Second Edition (it is not necessary to own this, but if you would like to do so, please visit Circleofa.org).

    If you feel drawn to the Course, but don't know where to start, or if you have been exposed to the Course and want support in the study and practice, this might be the study group for you!

    Date: Every Tuesday evening, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
    Location: Immanuel Baptist Church, 815 Park Ave., Rochester, NY (enter through the front doors on Park Avenue; on-street parking, plus small parking lot in rear of church)
    Cost: Donations are appreciated to help cover the cost of the space (please note: it is not necessary to make a donation to attend--all are welcome!)

  • To be notified of cancellations through e-mail, please go to pattifields.com and click on “Study Group” where cancellations will be posted.
  • It is not necessary to attend every meeting; after submitting your e-mail address to pifields@frontiernet.net, an e-mail will be sent out each week to those in the group noting what section of the text the group is reading, so that if a meeting is missed, one can still participate in the group discussion for that week.
